Terms and Conditions:


All payments are made securely through either Stripe or PayPal. When goods are paid for at the checkout, the payment is made directly to either Stripe or PayPal – they alone have your credit/debit card details. A PayPal account is not required to use PayPal. You simply input your credit/debit card details into the secure PayPal site.  Stripe and PayPal uses the latest in data encryption and anti-fraud technology to keep your information secure, reducing the risk of online fraud.


Delivery & Shipping:

Shipping is added to the cost of the goods purchased at the checkout. Postage is set at a flat rate at present and the cost will depend on your location. This is subject to change. There may be occasional free post promotions. This will be advertised on the website.

For Ireland:

Orders will be sent either by Fastway Couriers, An Post or to your Parcel Motel Locker.

  • For the majority of orders we will use  Fastway Couriers.
  • An Post for orders under 500 grams if your order fits into a standard large envelope. You will receive a refund for excess P&P if applicable.
  • If you wish to have your order delivered to your Parcel Motel address – select Flat Rate Courier Option in your cart ensuring you put your PM number / address in the delivery details when you check out.

Goods will generally be dispatched to Fastway Couriers, The post office or Parcel Motel facility within 1 – 2 working days.

Delivery using the Parcel Morel will take approximately 3 days from day of dispatch. Please allow sufficient time when ordering.

 Option to have your order delivered by An Post / 1 – 2 day delivery

We understand that some of you may prefer to use An Post to receive your orders, and we would like to allow you this facility. However due to escalating postage costs we need to charge a bit extra for this service for larger fabric orders -those that weigh over 500g/ do not fit in a standard large envelope.

  • Select the Flat Rate An Post option when reviewing the shopping cart. Cost at present is €11 – if your package is heavier than 3kg there will be an additional charge. We will send you an invoice for the extra postage .

Applicable in ROI and NI only.

Northern Ireland Orders:

Charges are the same as Republic of Ireland however the website will automatically charge you the International rate for the UK. We will refund you the excess shipping charged. Orders will be dispatched by Fastway.

For International orders

Northern Ireland & United Kingdom  please select the €15 option

UK – Orders will be sent either by  An Post or by Nightline Couriers depending on the weight of the package.

REST OF EUROPE/ Worldwide:

We will use An Post (Irish Postal System) for the moment.

Please email us at maeve@dressfabrics with your order and we will weigh the parcel and get an accurate quote from the post office, we will then invoice you for the order and shipping.

Republic of Ireland:

  • Flat Rate Courier €4.50
  • Flat Rate An Post €11

UK  €15

NI will be charged €15 but you will receive a refund once its sent with Fastway ( same as ROI – free shipping if spend over €50 and €4.50 up to €50.

Fabric Samples: €1.50

The website and images:

Since dressmaking fabrics are our main item for sale on this website, we do our utmost to provide as many accurate images and detailed descriptions of the feel and drape of the fabrics and suggested uses of each item we have in stock.  However this is not always the most definitive way of selecting your choice of fabric. Therefore we suggest that you avail of our samples.


Due to escalating postage charges we now charge €1.50 for up to 5 fabric samples.

Please select the samples you require – email maeve@dressfabrics.ie with the item SKU code numbers and your address. We will send you a paypal request for €1.50 to cover P&P.

If you are ordering fabric  you may request free samples of our fabrics. List the code numbers you require in the comments box at checkout or email us.

Ordering fabric not listed on the website:

Colour cards are attached to many of our standard fabrics. It is possible to order other colours/ prints from these cards where they are not automatically in stock. Please email or phone us to discuss your requirements. Delivery will generally take between one to two weeks for this service.

Refunds and Returns.

There are times when an exchange or return/refund of goods is necessary .You may return you goods within 14 days – this is 14 days from the day you receive your purchase.  You are responsible for the return postal costs. A full refund will be issued once the goods have been received back at Dress Fabrics HQ intact in the original packaging. The return address will be on the receipt attached to your order.


  • we no longer accept returns of cut fabrics – the fabric is cut to your requirements and its resell value is diminished once its cut. We will however accept a return with a 25% penalty on the original value of the fabric once its returned in good order.
  • Remnant and sale fabric cannot be returned.

Please  use our fabric sampling service to avoid returns.

Faulty Fabric:

Now and again there will be a defect in the fabric – normally these are small and you will be able to work around them. Please check the fabric for any obvious flaws as soon as you buy it (and before you wash it). It’s impossible for us to see everything on the fabric while cutting it out and preparing orders. If you find a flaw / fault contact us immediately – sometimes a photo of the problem is enough to issue a refund to avoid postage costs. However in all fairness we can’t issue a refund if you have already washed the fabric, or used it in any way as its hard to tell when in the process the fault occurred.

Please contact us before you decide to return the goods as we may be able to avoid unnecessary postage costs.

If the goods are delivered damaged or defective in some way to you please contact us immediately.

Please use our sample service to avoid unnecessary return of goods.


If you wish to cancel an order – please contact us by email or phone call immediately. We will arrange a refund via PayPal / Stripe. However if an order has already been dispatched you have 7 days to cancel the order from the day you receive the order.   You will be liable for the return postage costs. Exceptions are as outlined above under returns.
