Sewing a Sagebrush Top – A Review
Sagebrush Top by Friday Pattern Company
The pattern is easy to follow although I made some changes.
- I did a forward shoulder adjustment which I really did not need to do as it brought the shoulder seam about 2 cm too forward.
- I removed 2 inches down along the centre of the sleeves which worked out great and there is enough fullness for me.
I purchased the viscose from Dressfabrics and this is my own feedback.
I just loved the viscose fabric, I was first drawn to its colour but it has a lovely texture and drape.
I’d say it’s the nicest viscose I have worked with and I certainly will be getting this material again, maybe in another colour.
I used a microtex needle.
It took me longer to make because of the French seams but it was totally worth it.
Inside of Top to show off the French Seams
French seamed the Back Yoke
Put bias binding on to cover raw edge of Front Yoke / Front Yoke covered
Can you believe I just ran out when I finished the hem?
Thanks for your review of the Sagebrush Pattern and the Viscose Fabric Fionnuala.
Fionnuala purchased both fabric and pattern from our shop. The pattern is out of stock at the moment but should be back on the site later in March 21. If you can’t wait to make your own the pdF is available directly from the Friday Pattern Company.
